Residents are encouraged to attend the County of Maui’s Disaster Recovery Community Meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Lahaina Intermediate School cafeteria.

No Wednesday night Disaster Recovery Community Update meeting in Lahaina on Aug. 7

The County of Maui announced there will be no weekly Lahaina Disaster Recovery Community Update meetingthis Wednesday, Aug. 7, to allow for preparations for Remembrance Week gatherings. 

Wednesday Disaster Recovery Community Update Meeting to be held at Lahaina Civic Center, June 19

Ed Sniffen, Director of the State Department of Transportation, will provide an update at the meeting. The County Office of Recovery will also provide an update.

Mayor Bissen’s weekly Disaster Recovery Community Update Meeting set for Wednesday

The meeting will feature an update on Lahaina Harbor from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, an update on debris clearing from the US Army Corps of Engineers and information on the status of drinking water sampling from the US Environmental Protection Agency.

County Office of Recovery shares updates on sewer line, drinking water inspections, deferred properties

The County of Maui Office of Recovery shared several updates for residents including progress made on deferred properties and sewer and water line inspections, and two new community engagement events.

In observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, County of Maui disaster-related resources will have a modified schedule.

Mayor Richard Bissen’s Weekly Disaster Recovery Community Update Meetings resume this week at 6 p.m. in Kula on Tuesday (tonight) and at 5:30 p.m. in Lahaina on Wednesday after being canceled last week due to the kona low weather system. 

Weekly Disaster Recovery Community Update Meetings to launch Upcountry

The first meeting takes place on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at the Kula Elementary School cafeteria. The meetings continue at 6 p.m. every Thursday in November and December as debris cleanup progresses, with the exception of holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, 2023.
