Fostering for the Holidays at Maui Humane Society started Dec. 15 and runs through Jan. 2, 2023. It allows any member of the public to take an animal home for the holidays for free, with all supplies provided. They can call or walk through the front doors of the Maui Humane Society, and let staff know they are interested in the free, life-saving opportunity to Foster for the Holidays.

Due to high surrender and stray intake rates, the shelter population is experiencing a surge. There are currently 198 cats/kittens and 23 dogs in foster homes.
