#Hula Festival

The beloved Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival returns to Lahaina at the beautifully reimagined Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows on Aug. 21–22, 2026. This free, family-friendly celebration of hula and Hawaiian culture features hālau hula from across Maui, cultural workshops, keiki activities, Hawai‘i-made artisans, and live Hawaiian music, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Kāʻanapali Beach.

Kahiko night at the Merrie Monarch Festival featured hula in the ancient style with 29 groups performing Friday night in the annual competition in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. The festival continues tonight with ʻauana or modern hula, followed by results from the 63rd event.

The 2024 Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival takes place on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center. The event features free keiki activities, workshops, Hawaiʻi made artisans and hula accompanied by Hawaiian music.

The 2023 Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival takes place on Aug. 12, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beneath the iconic Banyan Tree in Lahaina. Enjoy free keiki activities, workshops, Hawaiʻi made crafts by island artisans and hula accompanied by Hawaiian music.
