A water service outage is planned on Olinda Road in Makawao between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 21 and 22, 2023, the Maui Department of Water Supply reports.
Water shutdown affecting Makawao, June 14 and 15
Goodfellow Bros. and the County of Maui Department of Water Supply will perform work on the County’s water system on June 14 and 15, 2023, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Water Violation at Makawao System Attributed to Mechanical Error
County officials say the violation involved water that was being tested for turbidity (clarity) before it went into a 3 million-gallon storage tank. Water in the tank was then disinfected with chlorine as part of the routine water treatment process. A notice advises that customers do not need to boil their water or take any other corrective actions; however, if there are specific health concerns, the department advises consultation of a doctor.

There’s no water available for customers from Makawao Avenue and Makani Road to Pukalani Superette.
Makawao Waterline Repairs May Disrupt Service, Aug. 10
Due to repairs to a water main off Olinda Rd, low water pressure to a temporary interruption in water service may occur for some Makawao customers.

A mainline break near the intersection of Kaluanui and Kokomo Roads in Makawao will effect water in the area for six hours.

The Department of Water Supply will be replacing a pressure regulator in front of the Makawao Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
