Lau Ke Aloha event invites Maui residents to celebrate Hawaiʻi games and native species through art
The Aloha Mākena Foundation, in partnership with Mākena Golf & Beach Club, present the “Lau Ke Aloha: Hawaiʻi Games & Kinolau Native Species Art Creation Day” on Wednesday, June 25 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Mākena’s Hale Pili. This free event provides a unique opportunity for Maui residents to enjoy Hawaiian games and to create works of art celebrating the island’s native species under the guidance of local artists.

Mākena Golf & Beach Club maintains access to Mākena Landing Park
Several kiawe trees were removed from Mākena Landing Park earlier this week, resulting in concerns and questions shared by regular beachgoers. Mākena Golf & Beach Club reports that the removal of the trees was necessary for the park to remain safe for public access and to minimize risk to the shoreline ecosystem.
Kanaloa Kaho’olawe fundraising farm dinner at Mākena Golf and Beach Club
Mākena Golf & Beach Club will host I Ola Kanaloa, a fundraising dinner event honoring local organizations Protect Kahoʻolawe ‘Ohana and Kahoʻolawe Island Reserve Commission for their work towards supporting Kahoʻolawe. All proceeds from the event will benefit the honorees. The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mākena Golf & Beach Club’s Nāulu Farm.
Local organizations invite community to build a traditional hale in Honuaʻula
To elevate the relationship of ʻāina and kānaka, the public is invited to join a free two-day traditional hale building guided by Kuhikuhi Puʻuone (Master Indigenous Architect) Francis Palani Sinenci on May 17 and 18 in Waipao, Honuaʻula.
Community golf tournament in Mākena to benefit Maui conservation organizations, June 25
Mākena Golf & Beach Club is hosting a community golf tournament on Sunday, June 25, 2023 benefiting organizations dedicated to the protection and conservation of Maui’s leeward natural ecosystems. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit Uhiwai O Haleakalā, Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project, and Maui Nui Seabird Recovery Project.
