MPD L.I.Y.T. program to help youth with basic needs, mental illness, substance abuse
The Maui Police Department’s C.O.R.E. Unit launches its inaugural Project L.I.Y.T. (Live In Your Truth) Program. The program’s objective is to assist young individuals, ages 14 to 24, who may or may not be unsheltered, dealing with mental illness, substance abuse, and/or are at risk.
Maui Aids Foundation to host World Aids Day Hawaiʻi 2022, Dec. 1
For the first time in history, the blocks from the National AIDS Memorial Quilt representing individuals lost in Hawaiʻi will be on display for viewing. Seen for the first time on Maui, organizers say this is an extremely rare and meaningful opportunity to pay tribute to those lost within the local community.
Goodfellow Bros. gives $136,000 to nonprofits in Hawaiʻi and three other states

Maui United Way Disbursed $60K in Phase 2 Emergency Safety Net Grants
In Phase 2, MUW received 27 applications and was able to fund 13 of them with the funds available. MUW is working to bring in additional resources to support the other nonprofits in need.
