The County of Maui Office of Recovery, in collaboration with the Hawaiian Music Perpetuation Society, is hosting Hot Kūpuna Nights on Saturday, Jan. 17, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Royal Lahaina Resort Ballroom.

Twenty-one residents were recognized as 2025 Volunteer Heroes for their service to nonprofit organizations during a County of Maui volunteer center event Tuesday at the Kalana O Maui County building.

Maui United Way announced its 23 new Community Impact Grant awardees for the 2023-2025 cycle. Organization leaders say these awardees have “demonstrated an exceptional commitment to creating measurable, lasting change in the Maui community.”

“Public Transportation in Maui County” outlines services on The Maui Bus, Maui Economic Opportunityʻs paratransit and Human Services transportation.

In Phase 2, MUW received 27 applications and was able to fund 13 of them with the funds available. MUW is working to bring in additional resources to support the other nonprofits in need.

Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop has welcomed a “new” chef, born and raised on Maui, who’s no stranger to the kitchen in Olowalu.

The Hagar Family Foundation donated $5,000 to Na Hoaloha – Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a Maui non-profit that recruits volunteers to provide seniors with friendly visits, transportation and caregiver respite.
