Maui High School will honor four distinguished alumni and faculty as part of its Hall of Honor Class of 2025 including: Rachel Kondo with the Award of Excellence, Katsugo “Kats” Miho with the Silversword Heritage Award, Glenn Otani with the Spirit of Maui Award, and Faith Ito with the Saber Spirit Award.

The team lost for the first time in 14 games this season, to Valencia, Venezuela, in the world championship of the Intermediate (11-13) Baseball World Series.

The Central East Maui Little League majors have secured a spot in the championship game of the West Region Tournament taking place this week in San Bernardino, California. They will play Eastvale Little League of Southern California at 3 p.m. HST (6 p.m. PT) on Friday, Aug. 9. The Maui 12U team is one win away from a regional title and a securing a spot in the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport Pa.

The Central East Maui Little League majors have made it to the West Region Tournament in San Bernardino, California, taking place Aug. 3-6 in San Bernardino, California. The boys will play in Game 1 against Land Park Pacific Little League of Northern California at 12 p.m. HST (3 p.m. PT) on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024 at Al Houghton Stadium.

The Maui boys play a quarterfinal game today (Tuesday, July 23) at 5 p.m. (2 p.m. HST), against Arizona—the same team they defeated 13-3 on Sunday at the regional tournament in Nogales, Arizona.

The Central Maui Hawaiʻi State Champions jumped to a quick 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back en route to a 13-3 victory over Tucson, Arizona. The Maui boys now move on to the single elimination play-off to determine the West Region Champion and berth to the World Series.

Central Maui Senior Little League reached the end of their World Series journey, earning the No. 2 spot in the US. The Maui boys came within one win of the US title and two wins of the World Series title, but fell to Cherry Hill, New Jersey in a 12-2 loss on Friday afternoon.

This morning’s 4-0 win against South Carolina, puts the Maui boys within one win of a US title, and within two wins of a World Series title. Central Maui Little League senior team will appear in a 1:30 p.m. game today for the US title against New Jersey.

Waiakea defeated Baldwin 3-2 in the 2022 Wally Yonamine Foundation HHSAA baseball championship game, at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku, Maui, Saturday night.

The Legends for Youth Clinic on Maui will take place on Thursday, July 19 at Maehara Baseball Stadium in Wailuku.

In the HHSAA Baseball State Championship game on Friday night, Baldwin defeated Waiakea 14 to 4 to claim the Division I state championship title.

Maui’s Shane Victorino is among the latest inductees to the Hawaiʻi Sports Hall of Fame for his baseball career.
