Hawai‘i Coronavirus Total Now 586: 2 New Cases, Maui Total is 110

As of noon on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, there are 586 cases of COVID-19 identified in Hawaiʻi with 2 new cases, both in Maui County. Of the 110 cases in Maui County, at least 60 have been released from isolation, and 7 have required hospitalization. Maui also reported its 5th COVID-19 related death. It was one of two confirmed in the state overnight for a total of 12 across the state since Feb. 28, 2020.

On Monday, April 20, a total of 444 people arrived in Hawaiʻi from out-of-state including 111 visitors and 151 residents, according to new data compiled by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority. There were no flights to the neighbor islands from out-of-state yesterday.

On Maui, the man who passed also had underlying health conditions. He had been in the hospital at Maui Memorial Medical Center (MMMC) since late last year. This person’s death is considered related to the MMMC cluster, which as of yesterday had 36 staff and 20 patients under investigation as potentially associated with the cluster.

441 Out-of-State Passengers Arrive in Hawai‘i on Saturday; 31 on Maui

On Sunday, April 19, a total of 441 people arrived in Hawaiʻi from out-of-state including 123 visitors and 184 residents, according to new data compiled by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority. On Maui, there were 31 individuals who arrived from out-of-state including six crew members, 13 residents and 12 visitors.

An estimated 300 bags of food will be distributed at the event.
