Maui Health Marks 100 Days of Administering COVID-19 Vaccines

Maui Health on Thursday celebrated the 100th day it’s been administering COVID-19 vaccines, and continues to expand efforts in Maui County.

April 1, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 114 Cases (72 O‘ahu, 30 Maui, 8 Hawai‘i Island, 4 Out-of-State)

The state Department of Health reports that there were 114 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Thursday, including 72 on O‘ahu, 30 on Maui, eight on Hawai‘i Island, and four in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state. There were a total of 1,223 cases logged over the past two weeks, 365 of them in Maui County.

Maui Mayor Proposes Vaccine Passport Pilot Program, Secondary Testing

Under the program, fully vaccinated individuals, with at least two weeks of incubation since their final vaccination dose, would be able to bypass the state’s 10-day quarantine without having to take a test. The vaccine passport program is proposed for both visitors and returning residents alike, according to Mayor Victorino.

DOH Reports Greater Vaccine Supply

“The state is getting more than 81,000 vaccine doses this week and the federal government is distributing thousands more to Longs Drugs and Safeway,” Char said. “The combined allocation to Hawai‘i this week tops 120,000 doses. We want those doses in the correct arms as quickly as possible and believe the neighbor islands are situated to get that done.”

Seabury Hall Closes Early Today for COVID-19 Contact Tracing

The Seabury Hall school in Makawao closed its campus early today to allow for contact tracing after administrators were notified this morning of a positive COVID-19 case.

Amended Honolulu COVID-19 Framework Allows Supervised Weddings Up to 100 People Outdoors

Under the amended framework, weddings on Oʻahu under the supervision of event planning professionals are now allowed in Tier 3, with a maximum of 100 people per event (including staff), at outdoor venues only.
