Two More Lung Injury Cases Associated with Vaping Confirmed in Hawaiʻi
The Hawai‘i Department of Health recently confirmed two additional cases of lung injury related to the use of e-cigarette or vaping products. This brings the current number of confirmed cases in the state to four, with one individual confirmed in each county.
Search Underway for Opihi Picker Off Hawai‘i Island
A search is underway off Hawaiʻi Island for a 40-year-old man who was picking opihi with a friend, but was swept offshore by a wave. His friend was able to make it back to shore and was rescued from the bottom of a 60-foot cliff by fire department personnel.

Traffic Alert: Accident on Ka‘ahumanu Avenue, Kahului
Emergency responders are on the scene of a traffic accident on Kaʻahumanu Avenue in Kahului. The accident was reported before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 near the Kahului Beach Road intersection. Wailuku bound lanes are blocked and motorists are using Kahului Beach Road as a detour around the scene. Motorists can expect delays in the area.
