The Hawai‘i Department of Health has received a report of a travel-related dengue case in Hawai‘i in an individual who had recent travel to countries where dengue is commonly found. The last confirmed case of locally acquired dengue in the state was in 2016.
Monthly statewide test of outdoor sirens set for Feb. 1

Maui County Council passes bill to help homeowners build ʻohana units

A traffic signal head and pedestrian signal are hanging from a traffic pole at the intersection of Hāna Highway and Dairy Road in Kahului, according to the state Department of Transportation. The department reports that the signal is dark and police were directing traffic at the intersection as of 12:45 p.m. Crews and technicians are en route.
