Update: 500+ customers lose power after truck snags utility lines in Kahului

Update: All the remaining Kahului customers were restored around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, after crews completed repairs to downed utility lines and a broken utility pole. The damages were the result of a traffic accident in which a semi-truck carrying a garbage truck, snagged and pulled down cable and power lines and broke a utility pole on Lono Ave. near W.
