Hawaiian Electric Striving for 70% Carbon Reduction by 2030, Zero Emissions by 2045
With the global urgency to slow climate change, Hawaiian Electric has set a goal by 2030 to cut carbon emissions from power generation 70% compared to 2005 levels and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2045 or sooner.
Nov. 5, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 124 New Cases in Hawai‘i, 12 Deaths
There were 124 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Friday, including 11 on Maui and one on Moloka‘i. There were also 12 new deaths reported today, including nine on Oʻahu, two on Hawai‘i Island and one on Kaua‘i.

Nov. 4, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 112 New Cases in Hawai‘i, 13 Deaths
There were 112 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Thursday. The latest data represents a total of 1,604 “active” cases statewide over two weeks. Maui County’s seven day average of cases peaked at 57.6 per 100,000 on Aug. 25, and has been on a steady decline since the beginning of September, dropping to 8.6 per 100,000 today.
