Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort hosts the return of the Hula O Nā Keiki children’s hula competition on Nov. 8 and 9, 2024. Organizers say this event marks an important milestone in Maui’s recovery, serving as a symbol of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of the island. 

The 2024 Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival Legacy Award was presented to Carolee “Doll” Aricayos on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center. Aunty Doll, as she is affectionately known, was recognized for her lifelong dedication to hula and culture.

The 11-acre, 432-room property is now rebranded as Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort.  Outrigger today announced that Maui Brewing Co. will be the primary restaurant at the Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort.

Mauiʻs Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel is being acquired by Outrigger Hospitality Group, according to a joint news release announcement.  The transaction is expected to close on July 26, at which time the property will be rebranded as OUTRIGGER Kā‘anapali Beach Resort. 

In a new effort to reduce waste, the Maui Marathon will be using the HydraPak SpeedCupTM instead of paper/wax cups at all of the aid stations. Organizers say, “together, participants and organizers can work to prevent single-use cups from filling our landfills or littering the roads and trails.”
