The 21st Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup, held in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy’s “International Coastal Cleanup” and Mālama Maui Nui’s “Get the Drift and Bag It!” campaign, invites both residents and visitors to join this global movement to remove litter and debris from coastal environments.

The 55th Annual Maui Marathon made a heartfelt return to West Maui this past weekend, drawing more than 2,200 runners and walkers alike across the full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K events. 

Runners participating in the 55th annual Maui Marathon are invited to pick up their race packets at the Maui Marathon Health & Fitness Expo, held at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kāʻanapali, on Friday, April 25 from 12 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The first-ever Lahaina Food & Wine Festival is set to debut Feb. 19-23, 2025, bringing together celebrated chefs, world-class wines, and unforgettable dining experiences in West Maui.

The LahainaTown Action Committee, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, hosts a special holiday edition of the Kōkua for Maui Shop Local and Show Aloha event, taking place on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. This event invites the community and visitors to come together in support of Lahaina’s resilient local businesses in time for holiday shopping.

Maui musician Kalani Peʻa has been nominated for yet another GRAMMY.

The LahainaTown Action Committee, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development will host their next Kōkua for Maui Shop Local and Show Aloha event on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. This special event brings together the community and visitors in support of Lahaina’s resilient local businesses.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa will host its next Kōkua for Maui event on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the resort. The event is a place where Maui residents and visitors can shop and show their aloha for local artisans and Lahaina small businesses who were impacted by the August 2023 wildfires.

The pin, named after the Hawaiian phrase “Mālama Maui,” signifying “Caring for Maui,” hopes to offer solace to residents while providing guidance for visitors. Its fundamental purpose is to establish a supportive environment for residents by offering a visual cue to visitors, signifying the importance of refraining from inquiring about the experiences of Maui residents, thus respecting their privacy.

While monetary contributions and fundraisers have been helpful, the Kōkua for Maui program offers the public a chance to connect with individuals and businesses and create an added economic boost.

The LahainaTown Action Committee and the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development are seeking donations from the community to support this year’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular in Lahaina Town.

For the first time since 2019, the ghoulish Halloween celebration is back in Lahaina — but in a limited capacity due to the 25% shortage of sworn Maui police officers.

LahainaTown Action Committee and the Rotary Clubs of Lahaina have announced the return of the 43rd Annual Halloween Keiki Parade on Front Street, happening Oct. 31, 2022, from 4-7 p.m.

Hundreds of Maui families enjoyed a safe return to Halloween festivities on Sunday night at Maui Countyʻs Halloween Drive-Thru Adventure at Keōpūolani Regional Park in Kahului.

“Halloween is On!” Trick-or-Treating is Back but Drive-Through Events are Encouraged While a return to door-to-door traditions is allowed this year, the Mayor is encouraging drive-through options like the “Halloween Drive-Through Adventure at Keōpūolani” Park in Kahului. The event runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Halloween evening, Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021.

Volunteers with the 16th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup collected a 1-ton trailer worth of debris much of which was from abandoned campsites along the West Maui shoreline.  

Police will be closing Front Street from Baker Street to Prison Street at 3:30 p.m., and anticipate re-opening Front Street at approximately 11 p.m. Roberts Hawaiʻi is offering a shuttle service as a way for people to get safely to and from Lahaina for Halloween without needing to worry about parking.

Island brand, Hi I Like You, was selected to print this year’s Halloween in Lahaina T-shirt.  The eco-friendly company uses sustainable clothing that utilizes materials such as recycled plastic bottles to “spread happiness and send positive messages.”

The Maui Police Department is issuing a reminder to the public of road closures and slowed traffic due to this year’s Halloween event in Lahaina.

The Lahaina Town Action Committee, which organizes the Halloween in Lahaina event each year, is currently soliciting sponsors and donations.
