While construction was not identified in this week’s report, Maui Mayor Michael Victorino on Wednesday confirmed that there is a a cluster at a construction company that contributed to today’s double-digit count of new cases in Maui County.

April 2, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 136 Cases (82 O‘ahu, 32 Maui, 13 Hawai‘i Island, 5 Kaua‘i, 4 Out-of-State)
The state Department of Health reports that there were 136 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Friday, including 82 on O‘ahu, 32 on Maui, 13 on Hawai‘i Island, five on Kaua‘i and four in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state. There were a total of 1,261 cases logged over the past two weeks, 361 of them in Maui County.
Mayor Interview: Six COVID Clusters Identified on Maui, Two Consecutive Days of Double-Digit New Cases
The state Department of Health has identified six COVID-19 clusters on Maui that are currently under investigation. Three of the clusters were identified at bars or nightclubs for a total of 22 cases.

Several clusters on Maui are being tracked by the state Department of Health, including small clusters arising from activity at a construction site. In another cluster, DOH officials say five Maui residents held a party on Oʻahu. One case from the party attended another gathering while ill and symptomatic. Nine cases were later associated with this party.

As of noon on Saturday, May 23, 2020, there are 643 cases of COVID-19 identified in Hawaiʻi with one new case reported today on the island of Maui. To date, 589 people (94%) have recovered including 105 of the 118 cases in Maui County. There are currently 37 active cases in the state.
COVID-19 Hawai‘i Total is 642: 5 Cases Removed Due to Updated Testing Information
State Health officials have removed five cases from the state’s COVID-19 totals as a result of updated testing information, bringing the statewide positive count since tracking began in late February to 642. Two cases were removed from Oʻahu, one from Hawaiʻi Island, one from Maui and one from Kauaʻi. There were no new cases reported today. To date, 585 people (93.6%) have recovered including 105 in Maui County. There are currently 40 active cases in the state, including six in Maui County. The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health reports that there were 579 individuals released from isolation; and 84 cases (13%) that have required hospitalization. A total of 581 patients (91%) were residents. In Maui County there have been 117 cases, at least 105 have been released from isolation, 22 have required hospitalization, and there have been six deaths. The remaining 11 deaths were on Oʻahu.
4 New COVID-19 Cases: 3 on Hawai‘i Island, 1 on Maui
As of noon on Thursday, May 21, 2020, there are 647 cases of COVID-19 identified in Hawaiʻi with one new case on Maui, and three additional cases on Hawaiʻi Island. To date, 579 people (91.9%) have recovered including 98 in Maui County. There are currently 51 active cases in the state. The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health reports that there were 579 individuals released from isolation; and 83 cases (13%) that have required hospitalization. A total of 586 patients (91%) were residents.

To date, 578 people (92.3%) have recovered including 97 out of 117 cases in Maui County. There are currently 48 active cases in the state including 20 in Maui County. The outbreak at Maui Memorial Medical Center in Kahului is now considered closed; however one COVID-19 patient remained at the Maui hospital as of Tuesday afternoon.

For the third time this month, there have been no new reported cases of coronavirus in Hawaiʻi. As of noon on Monday, May 18, 2020, there are 640 cases of COVID-19 identified in Hawaiʻi with no new cases in the state. This is the fourth time since the outbreak was tracked at the end of February that the new case tally has been zero. Zero cases were also reported on Thursday May 14, Friday, May 8 and on Friday, March 13. To date, 574 people (92.1%) have recovered including 96 in Maui County. There are currently 49 active cases in the state. Mayor Victorino said that as of Friday, May 15, there were two active cases at the Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Mayor Victorino said that as of Friday, May 15, there were two active cases at the Maui Memorial Medical Center. A total of 82 cases (13%) across the state have required hospitalization. A total of 579 patients (90%) were residents. As of today, there were more than 41,789 individuals tested by clinical and state laboratories, including more than 7,000 tests in Maui County.
