Street Bikers United Hawaiʻi Maui Chapter raised $3,700 for Pacific Cancer Foundation’s Children’s Fund through its 4th of July Weekend Biker Blowout Party, bringing the community together in support of local keiki and families facing cancer.

The 14th annual ‘Paddle for Life’ event raised $134,512 to support Maui’s cancer patients and survivors from Oct. 8-9, 2022.

Dedicated paddlers and supporters will be making a 22-mile, round-trip open ocean journey from North Kīhei around Molokini and back to benefit the Pacific Cancer Foundation, Oct. 8-9, 2022.

Cancer survivors and supporters will paddle six-person outrigger canoes from North Kīhei to Molokini and back on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 for the 14th annual “Paddle for Life” fundraiser.

This year’s Paddle for Life has raised over $225,000 so far for Maui County’s cancer community.

Paddle for Life, an annual fundraiser benefiting Maui Countyʻs cancer community, will be taking place this weekend.

Last yearʻs Paddle for Life raised over $240,000 for Mauiʻs cancer community.

For the 11th year consecutive year, cancer patients, survivors and supporters will gather at Hanakaʻōʻō Beach and traverse the ʻAuʻau Channel to the shores of Mānele Bay on Lānaʻi.

Twenty events and programs focused on community enrichment in Maui County were selected by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority to receive funding awards for the 2020 calendar year.

This year’s 10th Anniversary edition of Pacific Cancer Foundation’s Paddle for Life event raised more than $240,000. “This is fabulous news but in actuality the true success of this event is the beauty of our cancer community coming together,” said PCF executive director Nancy La Joy.

“He wa’a he moku, he moku he wa’a.” (The canoe is our island, the island is our canoe) –ʻōlelo noʻeau (traditional saying)

Kapahulehua said, “I never hesitated, and my answer was of course, ‘we’re all in this together’.” His passion and vision was simply to encourage and help cancer survivors and support them in a voyage they could participate in annually. While the event has grown and evolved over the years, the vision remains steadfast

With 30 canoes, 30 escort boats and a host of volunteers participating this year, the total number of individuals making the 36-mile round-trip journey is estimated at around 350 to 400.

On October 8th, over 200 participants will paddle six-person outrigger canoes across the ʻAuʻau channel from Lahaina to Lānaʻi as part of the 8th Annual Paddle For Life event.
