Several Hawaiʻi-born actors are hitting the big screen in the live-action “Lilo & Stitch” when it opens in theaters this Friday, May 23. Among them is Kaipo Dudoit of Oʻahu who plays the role of David Kawena.

The wāhine of Hula Hālau ʻO Kamuela under the direction of Kumu Kunewa Mook and Kauʻionālani Kamanaʻo won the overall title at the 62nd Annual Merrie Monarch Festival, in Hilo Hawaiʻi.

Liam Moleta of Oʻahu earned this year’s title for his performance of “Aloha Nō Kahului.” Also competing were Tevita Lisiate Apina-Pacheco from Waiʻanae, O‘ahu, Antonio Robles of Wailuku, Maui, and Via Tiumalu Jr from Kīhei, Maui.

Top music artists continue to donate their talents for fundraising events for Maui wildfire victims, including Henry Kapono, who is hosting a Maui wildfire benefit concert at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Several fundraising events for Maui wildfire victims and survivors will take place in September on Maui, Oʻahu and the mainland.

Hawaiian Airlines May Day 2023 presented by Kilohana continues the annual Lei Day tradition by the Brothers Cazimero with Keauhou, the 17-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winning group, returning to headline the concert experience alongside special guests, Robert Cazimero and his Hālau Nā Kamalei o Līlīlehua, Nina Kealiʻiwahamana, Jerry Santos, and Hālau Ka Lehua Tuahine under the direction of Kumu Hula Kaʻilihiwa Vaughan-Darval and co-hosts, Debbie Nakanelua-Richards and Billy V.

A statewide telecast from Oʻahu as well as live festivities on Maui will take place to celebrate the annual Hawaiʻi “May Day” with lei day celebration.

With COVID-19 infections seeing large spikes on O‘ahu, some of Hawai‘i’s musicians and artists are sharing “mask wearing” messages.  Creators say they hope the message reaches younger audiences who they say “may be disinclined to consistently adhere to safe practices.”

The annual Cazimero Lei Day Concert will be held in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater Sunday, May 1, 2016, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Internationally acclaimed and award-winning Hawaiian entertainer, musician, composer and kumu hula Robert Cazimero will perform on Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Shops at Wailea’s monthly Wailea Le‘a event at the fountain courtyard.

The Shops at Wailea hosts its Wailea Leʻa event, an evening under the Wailea stars, on Wednesday, Nov. 19, featuring free live entertainment by Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame musician and Kumu Hula, Robert Cazimero.

On October 8th The Maui Arts & Cultural Center is launching their second season of “Solo Sessions,” featuring legendary Hawaiian musicians Robert Cazimero, Keali‘i Reichel, and Jake Shimabukuro.
