A 29-year-old Kīhei man is recovering from a stab wound after an argument over parking escalated into a physical altercation in Wailea Tuesday night, police said.

A 55-year-old man sustained a laceration to his hand during a reported stabbing incident in South Maui on Wednesday night.

A Lahaina man is in police custody after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman and stabbed her in a bathroom in West Maui.

Maui police have launched a second degree attempted murder investigation into a stabbing incident reported on Tuesday night at Hāliʻimaile Park.

Maui police arrested a Lahiana man after an alleged crime spree that included the theft of tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise in Wailea and a knife attack in Kīhei.

Wailuku Patrol Officers were assigned to the 7-Eleven store at 111 Alamaha Street in Kahului where there was a report of an adult male that was stabbed in the abdomen.

“By shifting the focus from the gruesome details of our Alex’s death to how we can prevent another family from suffering the loss of a loved one, Alex’s death will not be in vain,” said Cerezo’s mother, Patricia Villarruel.

Proceedings in a Maui murder case involving a machete attack in a mall restroom, have been suspended while a mental health examination is conducted.

A witness said he heard Sylva tell Cerezo, “I was sent to end you,” and “I’ve been sending demons to the moon,” before swinging a machete at the victim.

Maui Murder/Stabbing Update: According to court records, the 23-year-old suspect had his driver’s license revoked for a year following a DUI incident last year.

A murder investigation is underway after a reported stabbing near the restrooms outside of the Men’s Macy’s store at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center on Maui.

Henriksen was charged with the offense of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and his bail was set at $50,000.

The pre-trial conference for murder suspects, Stephen Schmidt, 45 and Healohaomakanaamekai Akahi Pua, 24, have been rescheduled.

“The sad thing also about this situation is that Kehau really did do everything we would suggest. She went to the store, she didn’t go by herself. Someone went with her. She got a restraining order. When he violated the restraining order, she called the police. The police arrested him. Everything was working the way it was supposed to work, and I think that’s what makes this doubly tragic,” said Moniz.

Family members of two Maui stabbing victims have set up GoFundMe accounts seeking donations to assist in paying for medical expenses of their loved ones.

Handwritten notes, flowers and food are just some of the items being left at a memorial site outside of the Foodland Kehalani store in Wailuku where 24-year-old Kehau Farias Schmidt was fatally stabbed on Tuesday night.

The charges stem from a Jan. 18, 2016 incident in which Santos is accused of breaking into a home, knocking a 29-year-old Wailuku man to the ground and using a weapon to stab the man multiple times, according to Maui police.

Taliah Nelson, 32, of Wailuku, has been charged with allegations of second degree murder and she was being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.

Maui police have since arrested and charged Robert Kimo Prout, 49, for alleged connection to a stabbing reported on Sunday afternoon at Waipuʻilani Park in Kīhei.
