Wailea Community Association ‘adopts’ UHMC Nursing Program

The Wailea Community Association (WCA) started supporting the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College Nursing Program during the pandemic. Since then, it has donated almost $300,000, with almost $100,000 of that just this year.

An estimated $35,000 was raised for the Maui Nurses Scholarship Foundation during a golf fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 8, at Maui Lani.

UH Maui College Nursing Student Organizes COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for May 1st

On Saturday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to noon, there will be a Moderna vaccination clinic at Binhi At Ani, the Filipino Community Center in Kahului located at 780 Oneheʻe Avenue. There will be several nurses and nursing students who are fluent in Filipino dialects on hand. The clinic is open to the public.

Nursing Students Celebrate New Cultural Competency Course

The course follows up on research and interviews with Native Hawaiian patients in which who expressed disillusionment with a lack of cultural sensitivity demonstrated by their providers.
