Hawai‘i’s Coronavirus Total Now 14: Includes Big Island’s First and One More on Maui
The state Department of Health is reporting that that the Big Island of Hawaiʻi has its first confirmed COVID-19 case. As of 2:45 p.m., there were four new cases–two additional presumptive positive cases on Oʻahu, an additional case on Maui, and a single case on Hawaiʻi Island, bringing the state total to 14. State officials will address the new cases during a 3 p.m. press briefing today.
More Than $450K Allotted For Lānaʻi Conservation Projects

Emergency crews are on the scene of a small plane that is laying upside down at Kahului Airport on Maui. Witnesses tell us the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. The tail rotor number is N738DB. The Flightware website lists the last registered (Nov. 2019) owner as Fly Maui LLC out of Kihei, Maui.

Flood Watch Extended Through Early Wednesday Morning
The National Weather Service says, “A Kona Low west of the state will continue to produce bands of heavy rain and thunderstorms across portions of the island chain through tonight, and possibly into Wednesday. Hawai‘i Coronavirus Total 10: New Cases Include 2 O‘ahu Residents, 1 Maui Visitor
As of March 16, 2020, as of 3:30 p.m., there are a total of 10 confirmed or presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in Hawai‘i. Three new positive results were announced today for two O‘ahu residents, and one visitor on Maui. The Department of Health (DOH) is monitoring all of these individuals and supervising their isolation as well as the self-quarantine of their family members.
