Maui police are investigating an assault involving dozens of individuals reported in West Maui earlier this month. The initial call was for a disorderly incident involving approximately 30 people, reported at around 10:06 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the pool area of Kāʻanapali Aliʻi, located at 50 Nohea Kai Drive in Lahaina.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old Kahului man at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, on a $100,000 arrest warrant in conjunction with the June 10 robbery of a Maui couple on Hāna Highway. Police say the arrest was in addition to other warrants of arrests, totaling $320,000.   The suspect currently remains in police custody as the investigation is ongoing. 

Maui police have launched a second degree assault investigation into an incident that occurred near 270 Waiehu Beach Road in Wailuku. Police say an individual was arrested on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, and subsequently released pending further investigation.

A 40-year-old Kīhei man identified as Congressional candidate Kirill Basin, was placed under arrest Friday for first degree Terroristic Threatening after he allegedly entered a county building off of Main Street in Wailuku while brandishing a firearm and engaged in a verbal altercation with county employees, police said.

Local ranchers reported repeated incidents of poachers unlawfully hunting deer and killing cattle at night on private property, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in livestock losses and raising significant public safety concerns.

A Massachusetts woman is accused of biting a Maui police officer following her arrest for disorderly conduct and refusal to leave a bar in Kīhei on Tuesday night.

Maui police arrested a Kula man after a motor vehicle accident reported at around 4:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, in the area of Pūlehu Road and Ōmaʻopio Road.

A 37-year-old man was arrested for terroristic threatening following an altercation involving a machete on the Kahekili Highway in Waiheʻe on Wednesday night.

The list of arrests at Maunakea was revised to 38 from an original report of 33-34. Gov. Ige said he is committed to finding a way forward in a peaceful manner.

A Maui man was arrested and released after police executed a search warrant at the man’s Pukalani home on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019.

Police arrived to find the man in a vehicle parked at the Pukalani Terrace.  Police also found a pistol and ammunition in the vehicle.

In a continued effort to safeguard the neighborhood of Leilani Estates, police conducted another sweep aimed at unlawful occupancy of residences.

Police say 24-year-old Kaleo Kubo of Waiheʻe was later apprehended in the area of Nākālele Point and was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at last report.

Police say that on Tuesday evening, a 25-year-old Kīhei man turned himself in, identifying himself at the operator of the vehicle involved in the crash.

43-year old Rakesh Kukatla of Virginia arrested for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree in Hana, Maui. Police say he has an apparent history of this same type of credit card scam.
