County announces access for noncommercial shoreline recreation near Lahaina Harbor starting Saturday
Beginning Saturday, May 24, 2025, access to the shoreline on the north and south ends of Lahaina Harbor will be made available for recreational, noncommercial purposes, the County of Maui Office of Recovery announced.

“I’m really pleased. From the first photographs I saw it looked like everything was gone and that’s not the case. There are important historic buildings here that I think can be repaired,” said State Historic Preservation Division Administrator Dr. Alan Downer.
Theo Morrison: Helping to weave Maui history into keiki educational programs
Theo Morrison has been a staunch advocate for the restoration of historic buildings and the preservation of Maui history, through her work as executive director of the Lahaina Restoration Foundation for the past 15 years.
Morrison, once a fiber artist creating baskets from a variety of natural materials, has helped to successfully weave the stories of Lahaina’s past into an amazing tour through history.

Free keiki and family programs in Lahaina during the 2021 Winter School Break
Lahaina Quest programs are back this winter with a series of free keiki and family programs during the winter school break.
Lahaina Restoration Foundation Awarded National Preservation Grant for Baldwin Home
These funds will be used to complete a building assessment of the stone and coral block structure, built in 1835 in Lahaina. The assessment will result in a prioritized, cost-estimated list of preservation needs for the building.

Candle Lit Tours Return to the Baldwin Home Museum
Lahaina Restoration Foundation announced the return of of their candle lit tours of the Baldwin Home Museum beginning Friday, Sept. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. The home tour will return alongside a new exhibit featuring historic photographs of sports teams from the Pioneer Mill era.

Baldwin Home’s Iconic 50 Year-old Grape Arbor Gets New Plantings
After the Baldwin heirs deeded the home in 1967 to Lahaina Restoration Foundation, loyal supporters procured plans for building a grape arbor from a relative in St. Helena, California.
