FAA flight reductions begin at Honolulu International Airport

The US Department of Transportation confirmed that Daniel K. Inouye Honolulu International Airport is among the 40 US airports that must reduce air traffic. The reductions will occur in phases, with a 4% reduction beginning today (Friday, Nov. 7), an 8% reduction by Thursday, Nov. 13 and the required 10% reduction by Friday, Nov. 14.

The organization distributed 537,996 pounds of food in October, an 18% increase since August, and expects demand to surge by another 35% in the coming weeks due to the approaching holidays and the ongoing federal government shutdown.

OHA Board to decide on emergency relief payments for Native Hawaiians amid government shutdown
