The Mexican Consulate tentatively plans to set up shop at Maui Economic Opportunity once again but requires 150 appointments to confirm the dates.

Maui Economic Opportunity’s Enlace Hispano will schedule appointments for the Mexican Consulate’s visit to the Lahaina Civic Center on Dec. 16 and 17.

The Mexican Mobile Consulate makes another visit to Maui to provide document services, such as for passports, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 22 and 23 at Maui Economic Opportunity in Wailuku.

Enlace Hispano, which means “Hispanic Link,” was established in 1999 to assist with translations, fill out documents, acculturation and other services to help the island’s newest immigrants integrate into the community.

The Mexican Consulate was expected to process more than 170 applications and documents Saturday on the first day of its two-day Maui visit, setting up shop at Maui Economic Opportunity in Wailuku.

The Mexican Consulate returns to Maui Economic Opportunity for the second time this year from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2, to process passports, voter credentials, and other documents by appointment.

The Mexican Consulate handled about 480 appointments on March 26 and 27, helping individuals and families with their passports and other documentation.

In conjunction with the Mexican Consulate visit to Maui, the Hispanic Heritage Resource Fair will be held Saturday, March 26, at Maui Economic Opportunity in Wailuku.

After two years of postponement due to the pandemic, the Mexican Consulate will return to Maui Economic Opportunity to process documents, such as passports and birth certificates, by appointment from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26 and 27 in Wailuku.
