Maui’s Kahului Airport has managed to deal with the federal government shutdown with minimal impacts, but that is about to change with the FAA mandating flights to be cut at major airports and with transportation employees about to lose a second paycheck.

The OGG project will cost $62.3 million. Work is expected to begin in the summer of 2024 and to be completed by the end of 2025.

The Transportation Security Administration is hiring Transportation Security Officers to work at Kahului Airport. There are currently multiple full- and part-time positions available and the starting salary is $24.48 per hour.
