Jake Shimabukuro to bring ‘Holidays in Hawaiʻi’ concert to the MACC
ʻUkulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro will headline the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater with his Holidays in Hawaiʻi concert on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m. The show will also feature bassist Jackson Waldhoff and singer-songwriter Justin Kawika Young.
The Ritz-Carlton Maui hosts March double-header for Kapalua Concert Series, March 6-7
On Thursday, March 6, acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ron Artis II will headline the evening along with ʻukulele master Kalei Gamiao. On Friday, March 7, Akoni Palomino will bring his signature blend of Hawaiian and reggae rhythms to the series. Both performances will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Kalani Peʻa wins 4th Grammy in Regional Roots category
Maui resident Kalani Pe‘a won his fourth Grammy for his latest album “Kuini,” in the Best Regional Roots Music Album category. The win is his fourth to date after previous wins in 2017 for his debut album “E Walea,” 2019 for his sophomore album “No ʻAneʻi,” and 2022 for his junior album “Kau Ka Peʻa.”

Three-time Grammy Award-winner Kalani Peʻa has released a new album, “Kuini,” according to an announcement by Peʻa Records & Entertainment. When Maui was hit by a devastating fire last August, the nation collectively grieved. For singer and songwriter Lily Meola, who was born and raised on Maui, the heartbreak ran deep. So, she did what she does best—poured her pain and feelings into song. Initially revealed in a rare live performance on her Instagram account, “Hope in the Ashes,” is now available everywhere you get your music with all proceeds from the song being donated to the Maui Food Bank.

To kick off the new year, The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua will host singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Ron Artis II for a special concert. Artis will perform in the resort’s newly reimagined Alaloa Lounge on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m.
