Southwest Airlines commemorates seven years of dedicated community service across Maui on the anniversary of its first flight at Kahului Airport where Southwest first touched down April 8, 2019. 

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lukas Nelson will headline “Lōkahi: A Celebration of Maui” with Paul Simon, Stephen Wilson Jr., Lily Meola, the Maui Country Band, plus friends & family, for a benefit concert to support an initiative to address Maui’s shortage of healthcare professionals.

The Maui Farm, a local nonprofit that provides transitional housing, support services and farm-based programs for families in transition, will celebrate its 40th anniversary of service to the Maui community with a special benefit concert.

The first phase of the “Maui Nui Hall of Fame” was unveiled Sunday evening at Kahului Airport, featuring 40 inaugural inductees from Maui County who have made significant contributions in music, film, and sports in Hawai‘i and beyond. The event drew more than 100 Hawaiʻi icons, government leaders, residents and well-wishers who celebrated the accomplishments, talents and impressive careers of honorees who have left a lasting impact in their respective fields.

When Maui was hit by a devastating fire last August, the nation collectively grieved. For singer and songwriter Lily Meola, who was born and raised on Maui, the heartbreak ran deep. So, she did what she does best—poured her pain and feelings into song. Initially revealed in a rare live performance on her Instagram account, “Hope in the Ashes,” is now available everywhere you get your music with all proceeds from the song being donated to the Maui Food Bank.
