March 6, 2022 COVID-19 update: 1 death, 196 new infections in Hawaiʻi

Of today’s 196 cases, there are 160 cases identified as confirmed, and 36 probable cases were added to the count.  The confirmed cases included: 95 on O‘ahu (+29 probable); 18 on Hawai‘i Island (-1 probable); 19 on Maui (+2 probable); 11 on Kaua‘i (+2 probable); 0 on Molokaʻi; two on Lānaʻi; and 15 Hawai‘i resident diagnosed while out of state (+4 probable).

Maui’s King Kekaulike wins State Championship in Boys Soccer

King Kekaulike’s Nā Aliʻi is the first neighbor island team to win an outright state championship, and only the second title holders from Maui. The last time a Maui team won the state title in Division I was in 2018 when Baldwin High School shared the title of co-champion with Hawaiʻi Prep after the championship match was postponed indefinitely due to lighting.

Of today’s 184 cases, there are 137 cases identified as confirmed, and 47 probable cases were added to the count.  The confirmed cases included: 90 on O‘ahu (+31 probable); 13 on Hawai‘i Island (+6 probable); 16 on Maui (+5 probable); 10 on Kaua‘i (+1 probable); one on Molokaʻi; 0 on Lānaʻi; and seven Hawai‘i resident diagnosed while out of state (+4 probable).

84 new senior affordable rental units at Kahului Lani II bring project total to 165
