The Maui Ocean Center is offering discounted admission every weekend to all Hawai‘i residents, aiming to support community recovery and self-care in the aftermath of the recent wildfires.

The Rotary Club of Upcountry Maui will host its eighth annual golf tournament fundraiser on Sept. 9 at Pukalani Country Club to support Women Helping Women, which offers emergency shelter and programs for victims of domestic violence, and The Maui Farm, which provides safe transitional housing and farm-based, family-centered programs.

Several entertainment fundraisers on Maui, Oʻahu, California and Washington are scheduled this weekend and into September to benefit Maui wildfire victims, including a Maui Jazz and Blues Festival and country western concert, both in Kula.

Scores of artists rally to create three fundraising jazz, blues and Hawaiian concerts for Maui wildfire victims. Also this week on Maui, critically acclaimed guitarist-singer Makana performs a free concert, and David Grace Jr. sings his classic soul and country songs — one of them with more than 690,000 views. Dozens of wellness providers, such as massage therapists and counselors, have volunteered their services for a free community pop-up clinic this Friday, Aug. 25, and Saturday, Aug. 26. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the parking lot outside of Maui Ocean Center. The two-day clinic will be followed by free admission to Maui Ocean Center for kamaʻāina from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.) this Sunday, Aug. 27.

Three fundraisers are being held on Maui on Saturday and several more are scheduled in the near future — including benefit concerts on Oʻahu and in Tacoma, Wash. — to benefit people affected by the Maui wildfires.

Maui Ku’ia Estate in Lahaina hosts a Laulima Chocolate Tasting event from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2023. The event features a nine-piece chocolate tasting at the Maui Kuʻia Estate Chocolate Factory in Lahaina in support of Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project.

Nā Mamo O Mū‘olea announced that the Hāna Limu Festival returns to Hāna Bay Beach Park at Kapueokahi on July 15, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 12th Hāna Limu Festival returns to its traditional Hāna Bay location for the first time since 2019.  

Surfer-singer Landon McNamara performs his reggae hits, an O’bon dance takes place in Pāʻia, a visiting jazz group plays Django Reinhart music at a youth music benefit, and actors portray Hawaiʻi historic figures. The 2023 Makawao Stampede Rodeo will be broadcast LIVE on Akakū this weekend beginning with the Bull Bash on Friday, June 30 from 7-9 p.m, and continuing on Saturday and Sunday, July 1-2 from 1-5 p.m. on Akakū Channels 54 and 55.
