Nashville-based singer, guitarist, songwriter and music producer Jeff Dayton, who also was the former bandleader of country music superstar Glenn Campbell, will teach a free workshop March 30 at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College.

The 2022 Maui Music Series kicks off Jazz Appreciation Month on Maui with Keyboardist and trumpeter Paul January along with drummer Jimmy C. performing Sunday, April 3, at the Maui Ku’ia Chocolate Factory.

Grammy Award winning blues songwriter Keb’ Mo’  describes himself as a “work in process” and has a hard time picking his favorite song but his favorite for now is “Marvelous to Me.”

The program features Maui Kumu Hula Hōkūlani Holt of Pāʻū O Hiʻiaka and Nā Kumu Hula ʻĀlika and Kehani Guerrero of Kaniʻoikaʻohuleihiwa. They will share hula, ʻoli and moʻolelo. The program host is Alakaʻi Paleka.

The 2022 Prince Kūhiō Maui Ho’olaule’a happens in person, Friday, March 25, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center. The event is free and open to the public and features free keiki activities, workshops, Hawaiian music and hula.

“My Partner,” an upcoming feature film is set to start production in West Maui this May.

Whale Tales returns for its 16th year, connecting the global whale enthusiast and marine science community with international researchers, creatives, and conservationists for a one-of-a-kind virtual experience, March 26-27, 2022.

With JCSM pushing back the 2021 Maui Matsuri Festival from May to November last year, and many participating organizations still regaining their pre-pandemic capacities, the decision was made to honor the perpetual theme of the Matsuri – Kodomo No Tame Ni (For the Sake of the Children) – and focus on a one-day event for children.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua hosts the 30th annual Celebration of the Arts from April 15-16, 2022. Celebration of the Arts is an arts and cultural festival celebrating the spirit of aloha through more than 60 of the state’s top artisans, educators, cultural practitioners, speakers, and entertainers. It is the only event of its kind in the Hawaiian Islands.

Two of Hawaiʻi’s most influential songwriters of the 1970s–Henry Kapono and Jerry Santos–take to the stage at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center Saturday.

Broadway singing star Sarah Uriarte Berry joins the Maui Pops Orchestra in a “Tribute to Judy Garland and Friends.”

The Shops at Wailea debuted Wailea Wednesdays, a live music event series featuring local musicians, last week. Now, guests can pau hana and enjoy live entertainment by a new artist every Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Hōʻike Night is usually free to the public, but in consideration of the long lines that event goers usually encounter, and health concerns related to COVID-19, event organizers have decided to sell tickets this year for $5 each.  The sale is for Hōʻike night tickets only; not competition nights, which are not being sold to the general public.
