420,000 Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Tests to Scale Up Hawai‘i’s Testing Capacity
The rapid point of care tests, which can diagnose coronavirus infection in as little as fifteen minutes, will be distributed at the discretion of Governor David Ige to support testing K-12 students, teachers, nursing home patients and staff, higher education, critical infrastructure, first responders, and other priorities as he deems fit.

Ka‘ahumanu Avenue Community Corridor Project Announced
Maui County residents are invited to participate in a study to create a new vision for the roadway corridor along Ka‘ahumanu Avenue and Main Street in Wailuku. The roadway corridor extends 2.5 miles from Ka`ahumanu Avenue in the vicinity of the Maui Mall to Main Street near the State Building in Wailuku town.

Lāna‘i Nonprofits to Receive $47,250 to Help Stop Spread of COVID-19
The Lānaʻi Community Health Center will receive $37,250 for COVID-19 tests and food supplies for grocery bags that will be delivered to 150 households on island. Maui United Way, serving as a distribution hub for PPE to nonprofit organizations in Maui County, will receive $10,000 to provide PPE to Lānaʻi healthcare workers, volunteers and community members.

There were 62 new COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i today, including 41 on O‘ahu, seven on Lānaʻi, two on Maui Island (both in Kīhei), five on Hawai‘i Island, one on Kauai and six in Hawaiʻi residents diagnosed outside of the state. Moloka‘i had no new cases today. Lāna‘i has seven new cases today, with 93 active cases since the current outbreak was first reported on Tuesday, Oct. 20, (this is out of a total 94 reported on Lāna‘i over the course of the pandemic).
Maui Police to Conduct Halloween Impaired Driving Enforcement Campaign
Beginning Oct. 30 and continuing throughout the Halloween holiday weekend, motorists can expect to see saturation patrols and impaired driving checkpoints, which will include the use of unmarked patrol vehicles.
