Discussion begins on South Maui CPAC selection and application process

The County Charter and Chapter 2.80B, Maui County Code, direct the appointment of the CPAC for each community plan area. Committee members are appointed to provide resident input in the planning process. CPAC members provide guidance on local issues that influence the physical, social, and economic development of their community and are charged with reviewing and recommending revisions to update the Community Plan.

Molokaʻi community town hall to discuss Bovine Tuberculosis, May 25

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health, Hawaiʻi Department of Agriculture, and state Department of Land and Natural Resources will host a community meeting on Bovine Tuberculosis for the Molokaʻi community on Wednesday, May 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.

A moderate 4.7 earthquake reported late Saturday night was primarily caused by a “lateral slip along a sub-vertical fault,” and does not appear to be directly related to “magmatic activity” at the Hualālai volcano, according to scientists with the US Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.
