Trash, invasive trees and abandoned vehicles to be removed from 5-acre County-owned parcel at Ukumehame
In coordination with Mālama Maui Nui and Kane’s Legacy Tree Services, the County of Maui will be conducting trash removal, invasive tree cleanup and abandoned vehicles disposal during a three-day period from Oct. 23-25 at a 5-acre parcel owned by the County directly mauka of mile marker 13.5 in Ukumehame, West Maui.

Maui County seeks owners of 21 unclaimed vehicles salvaged from Lahaina wildfire zone
The County of Maui is seeking the owners of 21 intact vehicles that were removed from the Lahaina wildfire disaster zone for debris cleanup progression. The vehicles were deemed salvageable based on their appearance of little to no visible outer damage to the vehicle, but the County makes no warranty regarding the condition of any of these vehicles.

The County of Maui is identifying fire-damaged or destroyed vehicles found on public roadways and other right-of-way areas following the August 2023 Maui wildfires. County officials say there were an estimated 1,000 vehicles that were in public right-of-way areas following the fires.
New county program helps Maui residents tow, scrap vehicles at no cost
The Maui County Tow and Scrap Pilot Program launched in July to cover the cost of towing and scraping personal junk and unwanted vehicles. A similar program is available on Lānaʻi, and options for Molokaʻi residents are coming in the near future.
