The 62-year-old will play the lead role in the cult classic for the eighth and final time during a run from Oct. 17 to Nov. 2 at the historic ʻIao Theater on Maui.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, Maui Film Commissioner Brian Kohne will address the Rotary Club of Kīhei-Wailea, presenting on the topic of “Maui’s Nascent Motion Picture Industry.”

Maui filmmakers Brian Kohne and Stefan Schaefer will be featured at Akakū’s July Upstairs Salon, taking place Thursday, July 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the media center’s upstairs space in Kahului.

The first phase of the “Maui Nui Hall of Fame” was unveiled Sunday evening at Kahului Airport, featuring 40 inaugural inductees from Maui County who have made significant contributions in music, film, and sports in Hawai‘i and beyond.
