Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pāʻū Parade and Hōʻolauleʻa Committee announced Clifford Naeʻole as the Grand Parade Marshal for the 2025 celebration, set to take place on Saturday, June 21, along Kaʻahumanu Avenue in Kahului beginning at 9:45 a.m.

The 33rd annual Celebration of the Arts will take place April 18-19, 2025, at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, marking the final year of the event. The cherished festival brings together artisans, educators, entertainers and cultural practitioners to honor and perpetuate Hawaiian traditions.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua has announced the 32nd annual Celebration of the Arts – an opportunity for residents and visitors to embrace Hawaiian culture and traditions – taking place over Easter weekend, from March 29 through March 30.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua hosts the 31st annual Celebration of the Arts taking place at the resort from April 7-8, 2023.  Celebration of the Arts is Hawai‘i’s top arts and cultural festival celebrating authentic Hawaiian culture and traditions with more than 60 of the state’s top artisans, educators, cultural practitioners, speakers, and entertainers.  

A public art installation inspired by Wailuku storytellers is on display at the Wailuku Coffee Company in April.

The Small Town, Big Stories project will serve as a tool to continually create and collect stories from the Maui community.

Viewers can tune in at 5:30 p.m. each day, June 21-25, and enjoy entertainment, food demonstrations, craft how-to’s and hear the stories from communities on Maui, Moloka‘i, Lāna‘i and in Hāna.

While Naeʻole has been the dedicated steward of Honokahua for nearly 30 years at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, he believes that it’s everyone – past, present and future – that needs to learn about this sacred place and honor it now and forever.

Following the April 2nd launch date, the event will continue to release new content on the second Friday of each month until next year’s 30th anniversary event.

The videos are part of the Maui Nui Ahupua‘a Project, a community-based, collaborative signage program created to educate residents and visitors about Hawai‘i’s ancient land division system.

The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua put focus on the growth of culture and awareness at the 27th annual Celebration of the Arts, a festival that sprouted from controversy.

The new program will allow guests and locals to learn more in-depth about the Hawaiian culture and the wahi pana the resort sits on.

Hui O Waʻa Kaulua, Maui’s Voyaging Society presents a Legacy Awards Dinner honoring Clifford Naeʻole on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the King Kamehameha Golf Club in Waikapū.

“The Quietest Place on Earth” was filmed to introduce Haleakalā as Maui’s geological and spiritual birthplace to a world audience. The film tells the story of Haleakalā from the perspective of local Hawaiian cultural practitioners, artists, scientists, authors, musicians, cowboys and spiritual leaders.

Attendees of the Celebration of the Arts will be allowed to observe this Hawaiian cultural practice of caring for the kupuna.

Dancers from the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu, performed vignettes from their show “Ha”, translated as the breath of life, to open the 2012 Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Maui. The performance cleared the way for champion golfers to make a statement at Kapalua under clear skies and a view of breaking waves on the shores of Honolua and Mokuleia Bays below.

Golfers and spectators will be treated to a special opening ceremony for the 2012 Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Friday, January 6.
