Update: One lane at mile marker 36 on Honoapiʻilani Highway in the vicinity of Honokōhau Bay has been cleared. A crew from the state Department of Transportation continues to work to clear the rockslide from the other lane.

Nā Mamo Aloha ‘Āina o Honokōhau, a Honokōhau-based nonprofit organization, in partnership with the County of Maui and Hawai‘i Land Trust (HILT), has completed the purchase of 1.447 acres on Honokōhau Bay in Kā‘anapali, Maui. Work began today to repair the boat ramp loading dock at the Kukui‘ula Small Boat Harbor on Kaua‘i. Construction crews will remove the existing, damaged wooden loading dock and replace it. The new dock will be made of an aluminum frame with plastic lumber fenders and fiberglass decking.
