Kūihelani brush fire updates: 5 acres burned; 100% contained as of 7 p.m.

A fire along the Kūihelani Highway in Central Maui on Friday afternoon burned five acres of brush before it was brought under control. Fire officials declared the blaze 100% contained at 6:55 p.m. No damages were reported.

Update: Kahului Park & Ride lot resurfacing rescheduled

Work has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 28 for paving on the north side of the lot and Thursday, Aug. 29, on the south side of the lot from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
