The Miranda family of Kaonoulu Ranch, who hosts the event, celebrated 110 years with the next generation of the ranch, Elizabeth and Daniel Miranda winning All Around Cowgirl and Cowboy titles. A complete list of top finishers is posted here.

Eleven year old Luana Fitch won the Junior Barrel competition at the Makawao Stampede rodeo, held over the weekend at the Oskie Rice Event Center. Her combined times (18.85 sec and 18.83 sec) in the junior event would have beat the open women’s championship times for the same category. The parade will start promptly at 9 a.m., but attendees are encouraged to come early as road closures start at 7:45 a.m. along Baldwin Avenue and 8:45 a.m. along Makawao Avenue.

Bacon Universal announced its role as the grandstand sponsor for the upcoming Makawao Stampede 2024, taking place July 5-7 at the Oskie Rice Event Center. As the exclusive Kubota dealer in Hawaiʻi, Bacon Universal will feature a significant display showcasing the latest Kubota equipment, including tractors, excavators, track loaders, and utility vehicles. Highlighting the weekend’s festivities, Bacon Universal offers a meet and greet opportunity with six-time pro rodeo world champion Kaycee Feild.

The 2023 Makawao Stampede Rodeo will be broadcast LIVE on Akakū this weekend beginning with the Bull Bash on Friday, June 30 from 7-9 p.m, and continuing on Saturday and Sunday, July 1-2 from 1-5 p.m. on Akakū Channels 54 and 55.

Fourth of July fireworks and music, the Maui Film Festival, the Makawao Stampede rodeo and a number of Hawaiian concerts, including one by rising talent Wehilei, are among the top events happening on Maui. Find our comprehensive listing HERE.

The Makawao Rodeo Parade is back after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The parade features mounted and walking units, classic cars, and the 2023 Parade Grand Marshal is Donna Otsuka.

Maui celebrated the 4th of July holiday weekend with annual traditions that included the 54th Annual Makawao Rodeo Parade on Saturday, and the 4th of July Fireworks display in Lahaina Town on Thursday.  

Makawao Town announces the 52nd Annual Makawao Rodeo Parade “Ka Nahono Paniolo” (Past, Present & Future Paniolos) scheduled for Saturday July 1, 2017.

The short vignettes provide an on site look at an emergency water main repair project; the 48th Annual Makawao Paniolo Parade; the DARE Leadership Program; and the Summer P.A.L.S. 2013 Ho’olaule’a.

Three baseball teams from Central East Maui captured District titles and earned berths in their respective state Little League tournaments.
