Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa announced today that applications are now being accepted through Dec. 31, for boards, councils, commissions and committees in Maui County.

Positions are appointed by the Mayor, and are subject to County Council confirmation. Applications are due by Dec. 31, 2013.

Responsibilities include hearing public testimony, reviewing policies and standards and making recommendations, with terms lasting between two to five years. There is no monetary compensation associated with serving on a Board or Commission.
