Maui Federal Credit Union has announced the five outstanding members who’ve received the Higher Education Scholarship for the academic year 2024-25.

The Credit Unions of Maui has announced that up to 144 golfers will participate in its tournament to raise funds for Hospice Maui, but time to register is running out.

The Credit Unions of Maui are excited to announce their 9th annual charity golf tournament, which will take place on August 10, 2024, at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course, and will host up to 144 golfers. This year’s tournament aims to raise funds for Hospice Maui, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care for individuals and families facing end-of-life challenges.

The Credit Unions of Maui planned to host their annual Charity Golf Tournament on Aug. 12, 2023, to benefit local nonprofit, Hospice Maui. Considering the wildfires that ravaged areas throughout Maui, the event was cancelled, and in partnership with Hospice Maui, the $38,000 in proceeds raised was donated to the Credit Unions of Maui Wildfire Relief Fund, which has been providing essential resources to their members and those who have been impacted by the Maui wildfires.

The Credit Unions of Maui will host up to 160 golfers at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course for the 8th annual Credit Unions of Maui Charity Golf Tournament, on Aug. 12.

Maui County Federal Credit Union awarded 20 students with $1,000 scholarships towards their college education, giving out an additional five scholarships this year.

The Salvation Army is seeking back-to-school supplies for keiki-in-need with supply drives being held on Maui, Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi, and Oahu this summer. The Maui drive runs until July 16 at drop-off spots in Kahului, Lahaina, and Wailuku.

The new building will be more than double the size of its current Wailuku branch and main office and will replace the Wili Pā Loop location. The building is anticipated to be completed in mid-2022.

Hawaiian Electric permanently closed its walk-in payment centers in Honolulu, Kahului, Hilo, Kona and Molokaʻi due to declining use and customers adapting to other payment options. The payment centers have been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistance through the County’s Kōkua Small Business Recovery & Relief Fund has been doubled with the addition of $3 million in CARES Act funds approved by Maui Mayor Michael Victorino on Tuesday.

The new Kōkua Maui County Small Business Recovery and Relief Fund has already received 443 applications to date after launching last week online. Small businesses can apply for grants of as much as $7,500 to assist them with the impacts of COVID-19.

Maui Federal Credit Union officials today announced the cancellation of its annual membership luncheon scheduled for Sunday, March 29 at the Maui Beach Hotel Ballroom. The business meeting portion will still take place at the hotel, but there will be no food, refreshments, door prizes, and distribution of gifts.

Maui Federal Credit Union has opened Maui’s first Interactive Teller Machine in Kahului.  The machine was installed at the Maui FCU Kahului branch.
