Volunteers sought for three-night backpacking service trip in Haleakalā Crater, Dec. 10-12

The Friends of Haleakalā National Park seeks National Park Service volunteers who are enthusiastic and fit for a strenuous three-night backpacking service trip into the parkʻs Wilderness Areas Tuesday to Thursday, Dec. 10 to 12.

Call for guided astronomy and hiking tour Commercial Use Authorizations in Haleakalā National Park    

Haleakalā National Park is now accepting applications for commercial guided astronomy and hiking tours to be conducted in the park under Commercial Use Authorizations. All applications must be received by the park on Dec. 13, 2024, by 4 p.m. HST.

DLNR: Mana Road Fire Fight was a Community Effort

The Mana Road fire that burned along Old Saddle Road on the slopes of Mauna Kea on Hawai‘i Island was one of the largest wildland fires in recorded Hawai‘i history. In late July and early August, it scorched more than 42,000 acres of mostly grassland above Waimea and largely on the Parker Ranch.

The Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park is temporarily closed, due to road closures and severe weather. The Summit District of Haleakalā National Park remains open.

Haleakalā National Park Announces Entrance Fee-Free Days for 2021

Haleakalā National Park announced six entrance fee-free days in 2021. The entrance fee-free days do not include sunrise reservations or admittance to the park between the hours of 3:00 am-7:00 am.
