Hawai‘i Land Trust Receives Donation from Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos
Amazon founder and Executive Chair, Jeff Bezos has made two more personal donations to nonprofits on Maui, bringing the growing list of philanthropy on Maui for the e-commerce executive to four.  Today’s announcements include monetary donations of unspecified amounts to the Hawaiʻi Land Trust and the Mālama Family Recovery Center.

Settlement Reached in 20 Year Battle Over Water Rights at Nā Wai ʻEhā
The most comprehensive application of the Hawai‘i Water Code to water use and protection in history has been reached after more than two decades of conflict at Nā Wai ʻEhā on Maui, according to state officials. The term Nā Wai ʻEhā refers to the “four great waters of West Maui: Waihe’e, Waiehu, Wailuku, and Waikapū.

The Maui Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in locating a man wanted on a felony warrant. According to Maui Crime Stoppers, Rodney Herbert, 48, is known to frequent the Wailuku area.

Maui Launches Program to Replace 26,000 Small-Meters Over Four Years
The project is expected to last four years and replace an estimated 26,000 meters that are 2 inches or less in size. The first year of the project is scheduled to begin this month in Waikapū and continue throughout Wailuku, Waiheʻe and Pāʻia.
