The Maui Department of Environmental Management reminds residents that Tuesday, Nov. 3, is General Election Day and the following solid waste services will observe holiday hours as follows:

Don’t overfill the County trash cart. Its lid must be fully closed. Overfilled carts spill, exposing workers and the community to possible injury and illness. Overfilled carts may not be picked up.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, announced the new payment option, noting there will be a 2.35% convenience fee added to the total payment.  

Due to a personnel shortage, a scheduled refuse route today in the Kula area has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Due to manpower shortage, a refuse route in the Kula area today is being rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019.

Due to a staff shortage, a refuse route in the Kula area today is being rescheduled to Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Due to insufficient manpower, the Lānaʻi Landfill will close at 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15 and 16, 2017.

Due to a staff shortage, a refuse route in the Haʻikū and Kahului area is being rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017.

Due to insufficient staffing, the Hāna Landfill in East Maui will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, September 12-16, 2017.

Due to mechanical problems, a residential refuse collection route in Makawao was not picked up today, Monday, Aug. 21, 2017.
