Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is proud to partner with Maui Matsuri to host the 23rd Annual Maui Matsuri Children’s Festival this Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Center Court.

The Upcountry Winter Fest presented by the Kekaulike High School Foundation is returning this year, bringing winter activities, live entertainment, and seasonal festivities to Upcountry, Maui. Taking place on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 from 3 to 8 p.m., this year’s festival will transform the King Kekaulike High School campus into a winter wonderland, offering a festive atmosphere, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to make memories with friends and loved ones.

Maui Economic Opportunity’s Hāna Branch has been busy transporting East Maui residents to the Festivals of Aloha activities and joining in the parade over the weekend.

A Lahaina Obon Festival will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Lahaina Cannery Mall to uplift community spirits and honor ancestors and recently departed loved ones. A tribute to Lahaina, the special event is presented by the Lahaina Hongwanji Mission, Lahaina Jodo Mission and the Lahaina Shingon Mission.

Zenshin Daiko returns to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center this Saturday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Castle Theater. The 25th Annual Taiko Festival Concert will be a celebration of outstanding musicianship played with upbeat fun and boundless heart. 

The “ʻUkulele for Lahaina” Project announces the inaugural Kula ʻUkulele Festival, a special event as part of the Maui Jazz & Blues Festival series dedicated to providing ʻukulele to families who lost their instruments in the August 2023 Lahaina wildfire. The event will feature some of Hawaii’s top ʻukulele masters and will take place on June 22 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ocean Organic Farm and Distillery on the slopes of Haleakalā.

The 22nd annual Maui Matsuri Japanese Festival is planned to take place at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College campus on Saturday, May 25. The Japanese Festival event is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will include free entertainment, kids crafts, food booths and trucks, crafters, exhibits, hands-on activities, passport activity, and much more.

Maui County will participate in the 39th Annual Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Several benefit concerts for Maui wildfire victims are taking place this weekend, including Henry Kapono’s “We Are Friends,” a Maui Jazz and Blues Festival, Jazz Aid and “Rally Around Peace” at the Imua Discovery Gardens. Find our comprehensive listing HERE.

Maui Matsuri returns to the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College on Saturday, May 27 from 3 to 9 p.m., and will kick-off this Saturday, May 20 with Children’s Day at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Japanese Cultural Society of Maui presents “Children’s Day – Kodomo No Hi” on Saturday, May 7 at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center from 6 to 9 p.m.  Kodomo No Hi is a Japanese tradition that focuses on children; and the evening’s activities present a variety of multi-cultural entertainment and exploratory experiences.

A blessing and grand opening event was held over the weekend for the newly constructed Stanley Izumigawa Resource Center at the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center in Wailuku, Maui. The new SIRC will allow the center to double its space for visitors, workshops and research requests.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will livestream events every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. through Jan. 30, 2021 for its Live @ the MACC series. The series consists of rock, pop, holiday and Hawaiian music concerts, hula and contemporary dance performances and the visual arts.

Zenshin Daiko’s 20th Annual Taiko Drum Festival will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Jazz Maui’s 2018 East Meets West Festival begins on June, 27 2018, and runs through July 4, at various venues across Maui. 

The 18th annual Zenshin Daiko’s taiko festival concert will take place on Saturday, June 10, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater at 7:30 p.m.

Jazz Maui, produced by the Arts Education for Children Group, presents the East Meets West Festival on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 with some of the best jazz musicians in Hawai’i to be featured in concert.
