The long-awaited launch of Maui’s voyaging canoe, the Moʻokiha o Piʻilani will be delayed to mid-May, according to an announcement this week from Hui o Waʻa Kaulua, Maui’s Voyaging Society.

Hawaiian to Begin New Interisland Turboprop Service

The service aboard a fleet of 42-passenger turboprop aircrafts, begins with three daily fights from Honolulu International Airport to Moloka’i on March 11, and twice daily service from Honolulu to Lāna’i on March 18, 2014.

A group of midwives on Maui will join in a demonstration supporting their profession in solidarity against the bill during at a gathering from 11:30 to 2:30 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 10, at the state building in Wailuku.

Authorities say the existing air conditioning system has become prone to mechanical breakdowns and needs to be replaced. The funds will be directed toward care rooms in the East, South and West Wings, electrical rooms, and the pharmacy and laundry areas.

Federal Suit Over Religious Soliciting Outside Maui Fair
