Update/Rescheduled: Henry Kapono Celebrates the Songs of C&K, 50th Anniversary

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents Henry Kapono & the Songs of C&K, featuring Henry Kapono and fellow musicians in a 50th anniversary salute to the music of Cecilio & Kapono. The performance is in Castle Theater Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale online only at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 to MACC members and on Friday, Oct. 27 to the general public.

60,000 juror questionnaires to be mailed to residents in Maui County

An estimated 60,000 juror questionnaires will soon be mailed to individuals in Maui County who have a Hawaiʻi state driver’s license and/or are registered to vote in Hawaiʻi.

Maui hālau wins overall girls division in Queen Liliʻuokalani Keiki Hula competition

Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi, of Wailuku, Maui, won the Overall Kaikamahine (girls) division in the first Queen Liliʻuokalani Keiki Hula competition held since the onset of COVID.

Maui athletes take top honors at Molokaʻi-to-Oʻahu Paddleboard World Championships

Maui women earned two of the top spots in the Solo SUP Foil division. Twenty-two-year-old Annie Reickert, finished the race in 3 hours, 2 minutes for second place; and 43-year-old Andrea Moller of Maui finished about 20 minutes later for third.   The men’s solo wing foil race was won by 19-year-old Finn Spencer from Maui who crossed the Ka’iwi Channel in 1 hour and 31 minutes.  Fellow Maui athlete, 14-year-old Bobo Gallagher rounded out the podium position in third place, completing the crossing in 1 hour and 43 minutes.

Central Maui Little League earns 12-0 win against Burbank, Ill. in Senior League World Series

The Central Maui Little League senior team defeated the Central Region representatives out of Burbank, Illinois, 12-0 during an early morning game (6 a.m. HST Monday, July 31, 2023) at  J.B. Red Owens Sports Complex in Easley, S.C.

Junior Lifeguard summer program closes out the season with competition
