The Shops at Wailea is hosting a variety of shows and events for the month of November. The list includes live music on Wednesdays and a concert on Nov. 24 featuring Kalani Peʻa.

On Thursday, November 16th, Akakū Upstairs salon is excited to talk story with two profound cultural muralists, Oahuʻs John “Prime” Hina, of Urban 808 and DearLoveStory, and Mauiʻs Noble Richardson of E.H.A.(Endemic Hawaiʻi Artists).

Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents concurrent retrospective exhibitions of two prominent Honolulu-based artists, Marcia Morse and George Woollard, tracing each artist’s path by highlighting notable bodies of work throughout different phases of their respective five-decade careers.

Lōkahi: A Celebration of Maui featuring Lukas Nelson, Jack Johnson (Solo & Acoustic), Nathaniel Rateliff, Paula Fuga, Lily Meola, with family and friends Donavon Frankenreiter, Promise Of The Real and more performing live at Maui Arts & Cultural Center – A&B Amphitheater/Yokouchi Pavilion on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. This event welcomes all ages.

Country music band Old Dominion, along with special guest Mishka, will perform at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on Jan. 6 as part of the Maui Songwriters Festival.

Host Lanai Tabura kicks off the season with accomplished Maui musician, Joshua Kahula, the lead singer of Nuff Sedd. Kahula’s most recent project, E OLA MAUI, is a collaboration with filmmakers and artists across Hawaiʻi is a tribute to the families of Maui impacted by the August fires, www.eolamaui.com. A resident of Lahaina and father of three, Kahula shares recipes that fit his family’s busy lifestyle.

The proceeds from Pasifika Fest will go to the families of the victims who died in the fire to help them with funeral services.

WAIKIKI hits theaters in major cities this week and will start showing in selected Honolulu theaters on Nov. 3, and at the Maui Mall on Nov. 5. WAIKIKI is a dramatic film that challenges the stereotypical image of paradise.

Local and visiting keiki enjoyed a celebration-filled Halloween Spooktacular, provided by The Shops at Wailea on Sunday, Oct. 29. The Shops hosted a frightening costume contest, where more than 1,000 guests entered to win prizes.

Last night on The Voice’s Battle Rounds, Jason Arcilla of Maui went head-to-head with teammate Eli Ward. Singing a duet of “Make It With You,” by Bread, Jason was able to beat Eli and Gwen named him the winner of the battle. 

For entertainment this week on Maui, multiple Grammy winner George Kahumoku and Jazz Maui are back in West Maui, the 10th annual Made-in-Maui Festival features more than 125 vendors and the University of Maui College hosts an Arts & Resilience event and Touch a Truck for kids. The public is invited to celebrate arts, storytelling, and Maui’s cultural heritage on Nov. 1, featuring performances inspired by the stories of water-woman Aunty Sally Ann Delos Reyes of Lahaina.

The Maui Arts and Cultural Center welcomes back The Kingston Trio in concert on Dec. 8 as they celebrate over 60 years of influential folk music.

UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, is returning to Maui to perform at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Jan. 19 with special guest Ekolu.

A curated pop-up series has been developed to support celebrated Maui artisans who have been impacted by the recent wildfires on Maui. The “Maui Artist in Residence,” series is dedicated to harnessing the healing power of art through fostering connection, contributions and community engagement.

“Kala is a film that we hope will speak directly to our community and others like it. It is a story about forgiveness and the healing of deep family bonds. It is also a celebration of our unique lifestyle and our reliance on nature and cultural practice as a source for both our sustenance as well as our well-being,” said co-director and writer Matt Yamashita.

Mean Girls Musical: High School Version hits the stage at Seabury Hall with the favorite characters from the movie, powerful music, and timely pop culture references. The show runs at Seabury Hall’s ʻAʻaliʻikūhonua Creative Arts Center on Nov. 10, 11, 17, and 18 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 12 and 19 at 3 p.m.

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s Hawaiian Music Series will be back or a monthly edition on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m., at Hale Hoʻikeʻike at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku. This free concert will feature local talent Marvin Tevaga.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center has released a lineup of events for the month of October, including a chance to donate clothing for Lahainaluna students, enjoy Kama‘āina Nights, Keiki Club, Miss Maui Pageant, Holo Holo Halloween and more.
