The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will livestream events every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. through Jan. 30, 2021 for its Live @ the MACC series. The series consists of rock, pop, holiday and Hawaiian music concerts, hula and contemporary dance performances and the visual arts.

Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center has expanded its gallery shop for their annual “Hui Holidays” from Nov. 20 through Dec. 24. The expanded gallery shop features local, handmade gifts by over 100 Maui artists, crafters and vendors.

The Merrie Monarch Hula Festival may be held in 2021, but no ticket sales are taking place, and organizers say it is clear that there will be no live audience. 

Entry forms for the 31st Lahaina Poster Contest are now available online.  The deadline and drop off of entries is Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Village Galleries located at 120 Dickenson Street, Lahaina.

Maui’s Nā Wai ʽEhā is the latest artist from Hawaii to be nominated for a Grammy award.  The four-member group from Wailuku, Maui is one of five finalists in the Best Regional Roots Music Album category for their sophomore release “Lovely Sunrise.” 

The MACC’s Live @ the MACC series continues this weekend, Nov. 20-22, with three free outdoor, drive-in concerts in the A&B Amphitheater. Each concert will also be livestreamed. The first event takes place on Friday, Nov 20 and features NĀ HŌKŪ HOU with Jeff Peterson, Amy Hānaialiʻi & Josh Tatofi.

Jordan Soon, a Maui-based musician released his very first digital single, “Flashlight,” which is now available on all digital platforms. Now in his senior year in high school, Soon’s single was released on Nov. 4, on his 18th birthday.

The event entitled GENERATIONS: AMY & ERIC GILLIOM features the talented sister/brother pairing of Amy Hānaialiʻi Gilliom and Eric Gilliom. Together they will perform in both concert and talk story formats for an up close and personal experience streamed from the MACC’s Castle Theater stage.

In an Instagram update, Joseph Soul said it was “such an honor” to represent team Kelly Clarkson “but to be stolen by @gwenstefani was one of the most magical moments of my life.” 

The Maui Chamber of Commerce announced Alaka‘i Paleka and Kathy Collins as the local celebrity hosts for the 7th Annual Virtual Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival. The virtual event will feature shopping and interacting with vendors in virtual booths, a two-day live streaming component with QVC-style vendor presentations, sponsor messages, a chef’s demonstration, fashion show, vendor commercials, live musical entertainment and local programming.

Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents nights under the stars with another free Starry Night Cinema Drive-In edition that will feature the Disney Pixar film, Coco, on Nov. 6, 7 and 8 in the A&B Amphitheater.

The virtual concert will be hosted by Shane Kahalehau and feature Hawaiian musicians Nāpua Greig and Jordan T, streamed live from Guava Tree Bar and Grill.

Lahaina Gateway today announced its virtual Halloween activities, including a pumpkin carving photo contest and a social media guessing game. The West Maui shopping mall will also accept pumpkins for composting at the center’s vegan, zero-waste restaurant, Moku Roots.

The Maui Gift & Craft Fair will return on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lahaina Gateway shopping center. All vendors of the outdoor fair have passed a COVID-19 protocol training and will adhere to health safety and guidelines. #MauiNow #LahainaGateway #MauiGiftandCraftFair

The popular Friday Night is Art Night is back and is being held weekly at art galleries in Lahaina every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Enjoy Lahaina’s art scene, meet the artists, view new artwork and enjoy live music.

The Lahaina Plantation Museum reopens to the public today, Oct. 22 on the upper level of The Wharf, across the iconic Banyan Tree in Lahaina. The new museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The museum will be closed on the weekends and major holidays.

The County is coordinating drive-through Halloween events that will be held at the Outlets of Maui in West Maui and Keōpūolani Park in Central Maui.

Take a step back into Lahaina’s past as Candle Lit Tours return to the Baldwin Home Museum on Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., alongside a new, free Historic photography exhibit. The tours and exhibits will be held weekly in conjunction with Friday Night is Art Night.

Lahaina Cannery invites Maui residents to participate in some Spooktacular Family Fun with its Virtual Halloween Costume Contest and Spooky Keiki Crafts Event during the month of Spooktober.

It is the Spooky Season at Azeka Shopping Center. But due to the ongoing safety concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kihei shopping center is celebrating Halloween virtually with an Azeka Pumpkin Carving & Painting Contest Oct. 24-31.
